One of the newest additions to entertainment and comfort along Montego Bay's legendary Gloucester Avenue is Bancey Bistro and Tapa's Bar.

The establishment, which is nearly a year old, is steadily becoming a popular place of choice for locals and tourists alike who are seeking venues that sport an authentic tropical look along the avenue, which is also known as the city's Hip Strip.

When Western STAR recently visited Bancey Bistro, which is owned by popular Montego Bay chef Craig Bancey, manager Kemar Duncans was on hand to give a cheerful welcome alongside his two skilled bartenders, Santamia Grubb and Michael Wright.

"Bancey Bistro is the place where you can come and enjoy yourself, hangout with families and friends, and just chill and have fun," said Duncans, who, along with his team, specialises in a wide array of cocktail drink mixes.

"We have a lot of locals and tourists who come here because they like the authentic simple look of the place the drinks, music, and the ample parking space and just to chill. We have Happy Hour Fridays and special rum drink special on Saturdays, but we will also be throwing in a karaoke night," he added.

The restaurant component of the business will be opened in short order and will offer a variety of local dishes. The establishment will also be doing catering services for weddings, parties, and other big events.

Duncans said a coconut jelly cart would also be placed near the entrance to the property to further attract the many visitors to the Strip.
