Trinidadian singer upbeat about reggae track
Trinidadian singer Tyrel is upbeat about his reggae single called 'Finally'.
According to the entertainer, the track, which is a collaboration with Glen Washington, has been a hit among women, and he is hoping that the lyrics are contagious enough to win their hearts.
"It is really about me expressing my love for a lady. It's one of those songs that will let any female feel loved, and I am predicting that the lyrics will remain fresh in the mind of anyone who listens to it," he said.
Produced by Cliff Manswell, Finally was released on April 8, and the visuals will filmed in Miami next month.
Listing Chronixx, John Legend and Kes Dieffenthaller as his musical role models, Tyrel said that he is hoping to leave an imprint on the reggae scene.
"I am from Trinidad, where the music is soca-oriented, so it's not so much a reggae hub. So I am hoping that this single will give me some visibility, especially with Glen Washington lending his voice to it. I have done soca music, but this my first official reggae song. Everyone knows there is a relationship between reggae/dancehall and soca music, so this is the reason I am doing both. I am a lover of both genres," he said.
Tyrel, 20, told THE WEEKEND STAR that he developed an interest in music at an early age, and, as a result, joined his high school's music band, where he got his first taste of performing live on stage.
"I have been returning to the stage ever since. I love all genres of music, and even sing in Spanish. In 2018, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and take a bold step towards becoming a first-class entertainer. I just want my music to make waves and be heard in the four corners of the world. I want it to break barriers," he said.
