As she continues to chart her return to music on a large scale, singer Denyque is heaping praises on her fellow female artistes whom she says are making gigantic leaps in the music industry, both locally and internationally.

"I am so proud of our women in music, you have no idea how much. I am always reminding people how far we've come from as a gender. There was a time when women weren't even allowed to work and, when we were allowed to work, we had to work inna di back. Nobody was allowed to see us out front. The minute we got married, we had to stop working. The minute we got pregnant, we had to stop working; and if we ever think we bad and get pregnant out of wedlock, you were a demon," she shared. "So when I look at all the steps that all the great women in our history have made like Maya Angelou, Winnie Mandela, Oprah Winfrey and so many more, I am so proud of us owning our femininity, using our voices and making boss moves."

Specifically highlighting Shenseea's recent moves on the international circuit, Denyque says she is particularly proud of Jamaica's 'trending gyal'.

"I just watched Shenseea's video ( Run Run) and I was just in awe. I was saying to myself, 'homegirl understood the assignment'. She did a great job and she's reaping the rewards from that work as we speak," she shared. "I love the fact that she's putting her doubters to shame. And the best part is, she's still so humble about it." Denyque also heaped praise on Good Good Productions labelmate Shaneil Muir.

"She's supertalented and I am so happy that people are now getting to see what I saw in 2016 when she was just starting out. I am so proud of her and all the moves she's making in music. I literally could sit here all day and name some more of our awesome females making boss moves and just flourishing right now," she said.

Denyque, fresh off her music video shoot for the single Champion, said great things are on the horizon for her as well. She is putting together an EP that is slated for release in a few months, as well as a new single with German from Emudio Records, titled Pretty.
