As he readies to host his New Rules 'Vendetta Festival' in Miami, Florida, for the first time this month, dancehall entertainer Alkaline said that he and his team will plan to potentially host the event again in Jamaica soon.

"Most definitely, seeing we never had it there (Jamaica), due to the pandemic. Once the Jamaican Government gives us the green light, we will be up again," Alkaline told THE STAR. "Still, we must remember that the current entertainment climate is not just limited to the two countries, Jamaica and the US."

It has been five years since the inaugural staging of New Rules at the National Stadium, when the deejay performed to a sold-out venue. The Miami staging, scheduled for Sunday, March 27, at the Miramar Regional Park Amphitheatre, features veteran reggae-dancehall entertainer Wayne Wonder and the Nobody Has To Know hitmaker Kranium as guest performers.

Alkaline said that everyone should be focused on the entertainment industry returning to normal, noting that many individuals have been impacted physically, socially and financially by the pandemic.

"We want to focus on moving forward, while taking the necessary precautionary measures. Safety is one of our number one concerns for the fans and patrons. We are all excited for this, the third staging, and the target is simple ... getting together to celebrate the music, seeing as we have been out since COVID-19 and everyone has been affected," Alkaline said. "It's gonna be an epic festival, [so] everyone should come out, enjoy the event and create their own experience."

Speaking of experiences, the Champion Boy lyricist is eyeing 'world domination' and makes this declaration publicly in a recently released track of the same name. The single has been trending in the top 10 tracks on YouTube. He is looking forward to perform it along with some of his hits at the New Rules concert, but also recognises the potential for his investment in the event to grow and reach wider markets, and to be staged in other popular music festival landscapes.
