Romain Virgo's wife has inspired several songs from his catalogue, which certainly chalks up to him writing what he knows and feels.

The latest musical love letter, Good Woman, has supporters of the recording artiste understanding what he thinks makes a good woman.

Of course, the answer always leads back to Elizabeth Virgo, he said.

"If I am to go personal, I'd have to say she has been there from day one. We were friends before we became anything we are today and that for me is one of the first and most important things you must have with a woman," Virgo told THE STAR, following his performance at the Jamaica Rum Festival held at The Aqueduct in Rose Hall, Montego Bay, on the weekend.

Reminiscing on the past, the artiste shared that there is an unexplainable connection between them that could only be related to a memory.

"I used to tell my friends and a few people that, back then, she was the only woman I felt comfortable in a space with and could fall asleep. They knew what that meant, and that meant so much to them," he said. "It is deeper than that. She is someone very caring, looks out for my friends and family and that is rare, to me, finding someone that cares about you and how others around you feel. And while the list of characteristics of what a good woman is or should have can go on and on, that is something I think is special."

Songs like In This Together and Beautiful to Me have been inspired by love. The Virgos, who tied the knot in 2018, welcomed twins in January 2020 which the singer shared "has been a special time but a learning process nonetheless".

"It hasn't been 'terrible twos' despite what persons call this growing stage," he said. "I been around them from day one because it was at the start of the pandemic when they were born and I wasn't travelling." He continued: "Sometimes as a parent, you are there, but may think, 'Is this me doing enough?' and that's how I feel sometimes. It's two of them, so to get around and teach both of them at the same time, it can be rough."

He expressed that the twins are already developing distinct personalities and that has made the parenting experience an amazing journey.

"To watch them grow ... you see two different people, two different personalities. One is outgoing, one is reserved and every day it's just us trying to understand who they are and what they want to do, simply amazing," Virgo said.
