Medical doctor and recording artiste Shaka Pow is overly confident that his latest track, Unconditional Love, will have a big impact.

"There have been multiple recordings because doing music is still a part of my day-to-day, week-to-week activity, [I] still record extensively, but haven't been seriously putting out material. But this is, I would say, the first single that will get this level of attention in terms of high-quality video, Internet marketing, [and] radio play and it is doing well on couple radio stations across Jamaica and the diaspora," he shared.

He pointed out that the track, which is influenced by Afrobeats, is just a continuation of his regular dabbling in music, which he started long before the rising popularity of the genre.

"I have dabbled in different genres, hip hop, calypso, reggaeton and I have done two Afrobeats songs maybe four years ago, or maybe seven years ago with Sadiki the dancer, which was before this explosion of Afrobeats. So we cannot be considered as waggonist just because we see Afrobeats getting this acclaim now. I have recorded on beats out of Africa before and other parts of the world, so this is just to say music ... is one big melting pot and we see the unity through music by paying credence to other genres," he said.

He said when he first received the track from his colleague, he immediately started humming ' If I love you one more time' before he even had a chorus.

"I went into the studio and we found the chorus there and everything came together there," he said. Shaka Pow said that the storyline of Unconditional Love is similar to that of a popular American love song.

"It kinda has the same storyline as an oldie but goodie When A Man Loves A Woman, him figet everything 'bout everybody, him friend, him family, him just love the woman unconditionally," he said.
