Artiste dedicates song to Internet beauty he’s never met

Five months ago, David Crawford, an up-and-coming entertainer, was scrolling through Twitter when the photograph of a 'Coca Cola' bottle-shaped female instantly caught his attention.

Intrigued, Crawford, who goes by the moniker Mr Hamarich, said he was also captivated by her name, so he messaged her. He is yet to meet her in person but the stunning beauty is the motivation behind one of his latest singles, Sweet Ana Jamaica.

"She said 'Hi' and I told her I like how her name almost spell like Jamaica. She is from USA but she never specially tell mi where. A just while ago mi a look on her Instagram and see she and her sister and niece saying 'Merry Christmas', suh mi know a nuh fake people and no one is not using her Instagram or photo to text mi," she said. According to Mr Hamarich, though they have spoken on numerous occasions, he is yet to hear her voice or see her on a video call. But he remains convinced that she is real.

"She say no she can't send mi a voicenote and not even her family members she nuh voicenote or call. We only text on Twitter and WhatsApp. Even mi friend dem a say it important fi mi get a voicenote but yuh know she a female and mi nah try pressure she. Mi send har the US$10 Apple card and she tell mi to send a $100 one, but mi never send it still. Mi use har pictures in the music video for my song though," he said.

Sweet Ana Jamaica, which was released four months ago, has only managed 420 views on YouTube, but Mr Hamarich believes that if his Internet beauty had promoted the single on her social media platforms, they would be raking in big bucks. Although he is yet to hear her voice, he said the woman continues to inspire other tracks, including one titled Ana Ride. He said he is looking forward to the day they will meet in person, even though it appears she is seeking a 'money man' and his pockets are not that able.

"She is the real person but probably because mi name Hamarich she think mi rich, but she real. We talk about the future and mi tell har what mi would want to happen. But mi don't know if she have the experience to deal with somebody from overseas. Mi text har about marriage and she observed it but silence mean consent. She blush to a whole heap a di important tings dem weh mi say to har. She want a man wid some strong dollars," he said.
