Da’Ville praises Marcia Griffiths
Reggae singer Da'Ville recently shared the stage with the 'Queen of Reggae' Marcia Griffiths at the Art of Reggae Music Festival in Miramar, Florida, to commemorate her 60th year in music.
Da'Ville credited Griffiths as being an instrumental supporter of his career from the very beginning and explained that he was humbled to share the stage with the living legend.
"Her impact on my career is televised for the world to see. She took a chance on me when a lot of others in her league didn't. She's is very supportive to me and my music. So I'm also eternally grateful to her for the fact that she was chosen as that vessel by God Almighty to aid me when I needed it in the beginning of my young musical career," he told THE WEEKEND STAR.
"She called me and presented the invitation and I was never gonna refuse that. I love her too much not to be there for her. It's always been a pleasure working with the legendary Marcia Griffiths. I just love the camaraderie we have with each other, and it's been that way since day one," he added.
As they shared the stage, Da'Ville went into his catalogue and entertained with In Heaven that got a major reaction from the crowd. He invited the queen back on stage and blessed her with a gospel song that had the crowd singing along word for word. Pressed for time as the show was running behind schedule, he asked the crowd if they wanted more and with their approval, he did four lines from his hit Always On My Mind and exited the stage. But the crowd became a choir and sang the whole chorus, showing how appreciative they were of him. He was also lauded by legendary music producer Donovan Germaine who, after the performance, commended him in his delivery and engagement.
Da'Ville, a former member of the group ARP, recently released his new song Only You, produced by A'Legends on the 'Banksx' rhythm.
