'A ball of fire coming from the sky', is what aspiring dancehall powerhouse Pyneer wants fans to envision when they think of him.

He plans to be the next big star to stir up the dancehall scene, not only with his comical gimmicks, but a burst of talent which will ignite the world, leaving a musical "mass destruction and carnage". The artiste, whose given name is Alex Brown, said his moniker foreshadows his aim and purpose in music.

"A 'pioneer' is basically someone that initiates a new movement and that is me, basically. Anything that I do or say from here on will be something that someone will do [for the] first time. I am a pioneer. So if it's a song, if it's lyrics, it may be an innovation of something else, but trust me, that is all I am about, creating new trend [and] new wave," he said. He also explained 'The Dancehall Comet' aspect of his persona.

"Just imagine a ball of fire coming from the sky. No matter how yuh shub up yuh hand, run, hide, they cannot stop it; a force to be reckoned with. Suh anybody deh a foot a drop inna a second, quick. Believe man, that's a comet [and] that's what I represent [but] big up who deh yah fuss," he added.

A snippet of the upcoming music video for his single, The Comet is Coming, created quite a stir after being posted on his social media pages.

"It's all about confidence. I am big on showing homage to persons and learning from persons but you see once you're someone that reach a level that I want to reach, I'm gonna respect you. But if it's a case where I'm trying to reach that level and you're trying to stop me, I'm not gonna respect you. So The Comet is Coming is basically me being confident that there's nothing that can stop me from reaching where I want to reach," he explained.

"I am humble, not egotistical but I wanna be the epitome of confidence for the youths because not everybody is gonna believe in you until you actually do it. And if anybody come and say, 'Listen, we're not gonna give you a chance', I'm gonna get a chance somewhere else, I'm gonna create a chance," he continued.

Since his start in the business about six years ago, he's admitted that he's faced several challenges.

"[In music] gatekeeping is something that's inevitable [and] me personally is not from a musical background, we fawud and wi love di music, we have the talent and we a dweet from scratch. Suh yuh si because wi nuh have certain big link and certain established link in the past time, dem thing yah normally reach me. But right now mi ad i comet, coming from in di sky, suh even if yuh stan up inna di way, wi neeven a go roun yuh, wi a go over yuh head," he shared. He also noted that another challenge was receiving contracts from well-known industry players. However, he is grateful for those experiences as they made him "stronger and more resilient".

The deejay also credits social media sensation and motor vehicle expert Nick Lue for endorsing him, believing in his talent and "giving me a strength", in a recent viral car race competition video in which Pyneer voiced a dubplate for Lue. The deejay was all decked out in a full-white 'space suit and ultra-violet shades' as he paraded the streets of Half-Way Tree issuing sunglasses to random onlookers during his recent video shoot.

"The comet is coming suh unu betta protect unu eyes and brace unuself for the mass destruction and carnage this is gonna create as some people will be left hurt," Pyneer explained.

Holder of a journalism degree from UTech, Pyneer said that his main musical goal is to have "longevity in music" and not to be labelled as a 'choppa artiste', something he encouraged his colleagues to stay away from.
