Laa Lee for Reggae Sumfest’s Family Fun Day

With less than a month remaining before Reggae Sumfest transforms Montego Bay, St James, into a vibrant hub of music and culture, anticipation is reaching a fever pitch.

The event that marks the official beginning of the festival's extensive line-up is the highly anticipated Family Fun Day and Community Fest, scheduled for July 14.

In addition to the free dental and medical check-ups and giveaways, attendees can also enjoy lively music sets by disc jockeys DJ Mac, Trippple X, and DJ Collision.

Laa Lee is set to bring his energetic performance to the Family Fun Day. Known for his dynamic stage presence and infectious rhythms, Laa Lee is sure to captivate the audience and add an extra layer of excitement to the event.

Leeann Dunkley, coordinator of sustainability at Downsound Entertainment/Reggae Sumfest, said the fun day has become a staple on the Sumfest line-up, providing an opportunity for families and friends to enjoy a day of entertainment free of charge.

"This event has not only enriched the festival experience, but has also allowed us to forge a firm partnership with the community. By hosting Fun Day, we create a welcoming space where people of all ages can immerse themselves in the vibrant culture and spirit of Jamaica," Dunkley stated.

Samuel Afonso Diaz, country manager of Hospiten Jamaica, said that the fun day is a significant event where many Montegonians come out to access services that might otherwise be unavailable to them.

"This is our third year partnering with Reggae Sumfest. We are an international company but we are a Jamaican company as well, so we always want to collaborate and contribute to the community. The fun day is where a lot of families come out, so we try to put things in place to try to help them. Last year we did medicals, dental [check-ups] to help with back to school; so families were able to come and have fun but also get these things done, before going back to school, for free," he said.
