More than five decades of doing what they do best, while enjoying the support of family, friends, fans and sponsors, was good reason for the entire Stone Love crew to celebrate recently at the D'Lux Restaurant & Lounge on Caledonia Avenue in St Andrew.

The legendary sound marked 52 years in the business of entertainment, and founder, Winston 'Wee Pow' Powell, was ecstatic at how the night unfolded.

"The party was great. It was definitely the best anniversary celebration that we have had in a long time. Please give me a little space to thank our Stone Love loyal supporters ... they came out in their numbers, which I really appreciate. And of course, big up to our sponsors Campari and Refresh water and D'Lux Entertainment Centre," Powell told THE STAR.

One of Jamaica's most iconic sound systems, this year Stone Love celebrated under the theme 'Dance Party', as that has been the space where fans can "listen to great music, forget their worries and dance the night away". Truth be told, however, there was not much of the traditional man and woman stepping on the dance floor, but patrons did have fun, skanking to their favourite songs and bussing a blank in appreciation of the musical selections from the Stone Love crew, Bad Gyal Marie, Alonzo Hawk, DJ Ray, Glen Stinga, Bad Boy Cha Cha, Bass Odyssey, Boom Boom and Harry Hype.

Powell shared that he was "proud of this historic milestone as Stone Love continues to define and elevate Jamaica's dancehall culture".
