Deportee celebrates women with ‘2 Pretty’
Steadfast on his mission to empower and celebrate women worldwide, US-based recording artiste Deportee recently unveiled his track, ' 2 Pretty'.
"The track was initially inspired by the feeling I get sometimes when I am at a party and I identify a girl who sticks out to me from all the rest; I think every man goes through that. At that point, she becomes the girl I want to talk to and my conscience won't let me rest until I at least approach her. The song is imagining that situation and the interaction between me and such a girl going ideally well," said Deportee.
With the official video making rounds on social media and being picked up by popular creators, Deportee said he feels the track is one of his most successful to date.
"I love the response! Many of my female fans say it's my favourite track of theirs. The song is getting played in the streets in Jamaica and on the radio in Panama, and we are just starting to hear back from playlists. Kiss Kiss, a notable Japanese choreographer, has also joined the campaign and has been giving me phenomenal feedback from the streets. I am grateful for everyone who has been pushing the track so far," he said.
"We are still early in this campaign so we have big hopes for international success. I have a lot of faith in my team and we all believe in the song. If it can reach Billboard, that's great, but the real goal is to get it stuck in people's hearts and minds," he added.
Deportee has already begun adding the final touches to his follow-up track, another part of his move to empower women, especially for Black History Month.
