Corporate Hands: ICD Group leading corporate philanthropy
The ICD has over the years supported a wide range of social outreach initiatives to enhance the communities it serves. In recent years, these have included major programmes dedicated to enriching the education, training and empowerment of disadvantaged children and youth.
Three of these beneficiaries are Youth Upliftment Through Employment, The MultiCare Foundation, and Youth Opportunities Unlimited. More than 3,000 children and young men and women currently benefit from the work of these outstanding NGOs.
ICD has provided physical facilities, critical financial and technical support to ensure the sustainability of these NGOs. According to ICD Chairman Joseph M Matalon: "Our youth are not disposable, and without tangible private sector efforts to tackle the complex of social and economic inequalities exacerbating the consistently high levels of youth unemployment we are facing today, untold numbers of young Jamaicans face a daunting future".
