The Bible tells us that God will never withhold anything good from His people. Well, Fitzgerald Gayle can attest to that.

Gayle, who is a member of the North Street Seventh-day Adventist Church in Kingston, where he serves as an elder, told Testimony that in 1994 he was living in a rented house in the corporate area and his landlord kept increasing his monthly payment every six months.

"My family thought it was just a plan for him to get us out of his house, but my wife said, 'Don't complain, let us keep on praying, and let us just keep paying because we must find somewhere for ourselves'," Gayle said.

He said that in 1996 his wife decided that they should stop paying rent and that he needed to find a house in Vineyard Town.

He said she gave the idea her blessings, but bringing it to life seemed like a difficult task and many told him that his dream was impossible.

"My wife said I should leave it to the Lord. We did not know how this house came up, but nobody wanted it. It was there for over two and a half years and no one would buy it, until a real estate agent said there was a house and we should come and look at it," said the church man.

In order to acquire the house, he had to make a down payment of $400,000, but that was money they did not have.

"I went to a man and told him about my plan. I told him I wanted some money to borrow. He went to his wallet and then I told him that I needed $400,000. He asked me how I said it so easy, like it was $400," Gayle said.

Although the man knew very little about Gayle, he was willing to lend him a sum his wife had at his house that was fixed to a certain account.

always punctual

"He said the reason why he was going to lend me the money was because I was always punctual for classes I was attending at the time. He said I was always clean, among other good things. I got the money for 30 days, but did not know where it was coming from to repay. He said it was not his money so I had to live up to my obligation to repay within 30 days," Gayle said.

He and his wife started praying earnestly, and on the 28th day his insurance company informed him that he was going to lose the down payment because another $200,000 deposit was needed.

"We said to them that we were working on it, and on the 29th day they said we can't. On the 30th day, they said to us that we should come back for the money because they did not get a certain document from the sellers, and because of that they had to give us back the $400,000," reported Gayle.

The down payment was returned at 11 a.m. and he called his lender at midday to make the repayment. Gayle said his lender said he had never experienced anything like that, and anything he wanted again he (Gayle) should let him know. Gayle currently lives on his dream property.
