My Testimony : I heeded to God's warning

"From I was growing up, after a time I never wanted to have anything much to do with the Lord. I wanted to enjoy the sinful pleasures of the world."

That is the testimony of Andrew McIntosh. Well, all that changed one night when he was asleep. Pastor McIntosh shared that he went to his bed with his hair looking like a dreadlock. While he was asleep, he said he got a dream that the second coming of the Lord had happened.

"The Lord somehow spoke to me and said to me, 'When I return, you will not be saved'. I woke up that night and I was unable to go back to sleep. I was so afraid and just never knew what was happening to me," said McIntosh.

The pastor further shared that he got out of bed and turned on the light in his room, went back to his bed, and fell asleep once more. "When I got up in the morning, I combed out my hair and told myself that I was going to give myself to the Lord," remembered McIntosh.

FORGET GETTING SAVED

He recalled going to an interview for a teaching position at a school and seeing a friend. He told his friend that he was about to get saved, but the friend laughed at him. "I decided that I was not going to bother with this saving business. Some days after, I decided that I was going to return to the things I used to do," confessed McIntosh.

The churchman said he went to bed another night and dreamed that he was pastoring the church he currently leads. He said during the dream, he was passing the church when suddenly he saw some hands coming through a window, beckoning him to come inside. "The hands were calling me on the inside. It was there and then that I recognised that the Lord was calling me; but I was deep in enjoying the sinful things of the world and never wanted to let go of the things I used to do. I realised that on the final night when I got the dream, God was warning me," testified the pastor.

He shared that he got up out of his bed following the dream and experienced a serious fear once more. That, he said, forced him to go to his sister who had got saved before him.

"I told her what was happening to me and she told me that the Lord is calling me. That very night, I went to a convocation, and after the word of God was preached, I went to the altar for the first time in my life. When they asked who wanted to get saved, I held my hand up. I was 18 at the time. Tears started coming from my eyes. I could not control the tears," confessed McIntosh.

McIntosh disclosed that he stood at the altar with hands held in the air and with eyes closed. He said he heard the footsteps of persons who were at the altar with him moving back to their seats, but he stood there and made a commitment to God that night that he was going to serve Him for the rest of his life.

"I am still enjoying the presence of God. The only thing I am sorry about is that I never accepted Him before the time I did. It is the best decision I have ever made in my life," said McIntosh, who has been saved since 1994 and who currently pastors the Glorious Light Apostolic Temple in Trelawny.
