Typist wanted! - School seeks person with quick fingers

Think you're quick with a computer keyboard? Maybe you spend all day typing away on Facebook, or sending instant messages to friends. Well, you may just make some great cash being a typist.

A Kingston-based job recruitment agency is currently on the lookout for an affable typist to temporarily join the staff at a high school, in furtherance of completing what is supposed to be a book.

THE STAR this week in its Jobs & Careers section is yet again assisting with making matches between employers and employees. After searching the Gleaner Classifieds for vacancies, our news team connected with the operator of the recruitment agency, Customer Contact Limited, who wishes to remain unnamed.

In the classifieds ad posted, the entity informed that "a prominent high school in Kingston requires a typist who possesses at least a grade 2 in English Language at the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) level''.

"We are actually a recruiting entity, and so we seek to fill jobs for schools, companies, and such," the entity's operator explained.

This particular vacancy happens to be a temporary one, as Customer Contact's client only requests a worthy candidate to assist in the preparation of a book. Persons interested should expect to be paid per page.

In talking to THE STAR, he was more than happy to give insightful tips to the prospective job seeker.

"They should have four or five subjects, including English. Once they have English though, that should be okay," he said. "How fast you type matters. We will observe how many words per minute a person can do. They should be quick. A person should be amiable and respectable. They should also be easy to work with."

The proprietor told our news team that there is no preference in gender and welcomes both male or females between the ages of 18 and 25 to apply.
