Man steal Reggae Boyz Jerseys

October 30, 2015

A man who stole two Reggae Boyz jerseys from a storeroom recently was fined when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.

Charged with simple larceny is Ricky Richards. He pleaded guilty to the offence, and offered the court an explanation.

Richards said, "Your Honour. It's a case of wrong place, wrong time. I was inside the storeroom, and while searching for items to use in the kitchen where I work, the boxes fell down and a I just took up a bag and went to the kitchen area."

The complainant, however, refuted those claims and told the court that camera footage shows the accused going through the bag containing the jerseys, searching for his size.

Two medium-sized jerseys were missing.

Richards, however, countered and told the court that he wears small in clothing.

Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey asked the complainant if Richards was seen leaving the premises with the bag and the answer was no.

He was subsequently fined $15,000 or six months'

imprisonment.
