Up to late last night, police had not charged any of the men held in connection with Wednesday's massive ganja and currency seizures.

Some 3,304 pounds of ganja and US$83,900 (J$9,983,210) were seized in two separate incidents in Kingston and St Catherine.

In the first incident about 10:30 a.m., a 42-year-old Venezuelan, who arrived at the Norman Manley International Airport, was about to check in for a flight to CuraAao when he was stopped after his suitcase was searched and US$83,900 (J$9,983,210) found hidden in several items including shampoo bottles.

He was arrested.

Hours later, the police were on an operation in Independence City, Portmore, searched a Toyota Hiace bus and found several knitted bags in the vehicle with 656 parcels of ganja weighing 3,304 pounds. The drug has a street value of $11.6 million. One man was taken into custody in connection with the find.
