Woman crashes into 7 parked cars - Christmas shoppers sent scampering

Unsuspecting shoppers were sent scampering after a female driver aggressively smashed into seven cars, while attempting to leave a parking lot at Kings Plaza, St Andrew, last night.

When THE STAR arrived on the scene, the aftermath of the incident was observed.

Police said about 7:30 p.m., the woman got into a black Peugeot convertible car, and attempted to leave the venue when the incident happened.

It is said that the vehicle was seen racing through the plaza before ploughing into seven parked cars, much to the surprise and dismay of several onlookers.

It is said that the vehicle was headed towards oncoming traffic in the plaza before the initial impact.

"She park face out, and mi just see when she go inna the car and start up, and mi jus see some speed and mi haffi run like a bird," said a security officer at the plaza. "A me take her out a the car. A three a dem inna it. She (the driver) a one young girl. A she, her friend and her little brother did inna it. A jus Jah works."

People speculated that a mechanical malfunction may have been the cause of the

accident.

"People saying the car malfunction, and it just keep revving and all that, so I'm not really sure," said a man.

The shaken-up woman was taken to hospital with no visible injuries. There were no reported injuries as a result of the crash.
