A cell phone robber was sentenced to three months imprisonment Friday in the Corporate Area Residents Magistrate's Court.

Charged with robbery and aggravation is 23-year-old Nicholas Tomlinson. He pleaded guilty to the offence.

The court heard that on January 8, Tomlinson used a weapon to rob the female complainant of her cell phone.

Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey said, "We have an epidemic of phone thieves in this country".

A fingerprint order was also made against Tomlinson.
