Jamaican man gets 6 years for smuggling cocaine

A Jamaican national accused of attempting to smuggle a quantity of cocaine through Heathrow International Airport in west London, England, has been jailed recently, THE STAR has learnt.

According to reports, the Jamaican, 44-year-old Danovan Silveria Bull, had arrived on a domestic flight from Aberdeen on December 19 last year, when he was stopped by airport officials after a detector dog was alerted to the scent of drugs in his luggage.

A search of his luggage unearthed roughly 46 pounds (21 kilograms) of cocaine packaged in cling-film wrap, valued at £3.3m (over J$568m). The drugs tested positive during field test.

He was subsequently arrested and charged for possession of a Class A drug, and later charged with possession with intent to supply drugs following further investigations.

Get West London reports that Bull pleaded guilty in court on January 21, and was sentenced to six years' imprisonment.
