Housebreakers imprisoned for 18 months

March 03, 2016

Two men who appear to be career housebreakers were sentenced to 18 months' imprisonment each when they appeared before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.

Charged with housebreaking and larceny are 18-year-old Kevon Francis and his accomplice, 32-year-old David Anderson.

Allegations are that on November 3 last year, the two men made their way to the complainant's home in Golden Spring, St Andrew. It is said that the men unlawfully gained entry to the dwelling and made off with a number of items, including a Sony PlayStation 4, an Xbox controller, an Xbox charger, a number of cellular phones, three packages of cologne, two digital cameras and J$7,000.

The court heard that the men were previously sentenced to 12 months' imprisonment on February 3 for another offence of a similar nature.

In court, both Francis and Anderson were each ordered to serve 18 months in prison for the offence.
