Autopsies show that burnt bodies had gunshot wounds

Autopsies conducted on the three charred bodies that were found in a burnt out motor vehicle in Barnett Bush, St James, on Sunday have revealed that two had gunshot wounds while the third remains inconclusive.

THE STAR understands that an former Jamaica Defence Force member was among those killed.

Two of the deceased have been identified as 32-year-old Rory John and ex-solider Shane Hibbert, 31, both from Three Miles Rivers in Westmoreland.

The other male remains unidentified, and the St James police are appealing to residents on the western end of the island, who have a missing male relatives in their thirties to contact them.

Commander for the division, Senior Superintendent Marlon Nesbeth, told our news team that the police are following strong leads.

THE STAR understands that the three men left Westmoreland in a vehicle en route to St James Sunday morning.

Reports are that residents reportedly saw the vehicle on fire and summoned the police to the scene.

The St James police say investigations are ongoing.
