Jamaicans catch Black Friday fever

The scanty streets of downtown Kingston is not the greatest image of a Black Friday sale. However, despite the look, persons are taking advantage of some of reduced prices offered by some merchants.

There was not enough space to walk in Payless, King Street, as people are taking advantage of their bogo deal.

"This is a good sale. I got a shoes and a slippers for little over $5,000," said Monifah McKenzie. "Payless should do this more often because they get a lot of customers from this sale."

TAKE ADVANTAGE

Leona Coombs was among the many persons taking advantage of the sale.

"I came and got four pairs of shoes from morning. I got shoes for my children and I am back here getting some more."

"The sale is really good. It just make sense to buy what you always wanted while the deal is on."

Carlene was also enjoying the reduced prices. She was disappointed that more stores did not cut prices.

"Some stores are having sale and others aren't. Right now I am looking a shoes and I can't find my size or the colour. So I may have to go to another store where there is no sale and get it. That does not make sense. I think all stores should have a sale," Carlene said.

Persons who went to Bascho on Orange Street appreciated the sale even though they were not all happy about the 15 per cent cut in prices.

"To have a good sale, one must go 20 per cent and over."
