Visionaires Apostolic celebrates 10 years of service

The Visionaires Apostolic ministry in Montego Bay, St James recently hosted an energetic service to celebrate the official opening and dedication of its sanctuary building in the Mt Salem community, cementing its 10th anniversary of service to the western city.

The dedication ceremony was held at the beginning of Visionaires Apostolic's weeklong convention, under the theme "Rapture alert! Let God's presence fill this house."

Church members raised their voices in worship which was attended by several local dignitaries, including St James' Custos, Bishop Conrad Pitkin; Montego Bay's mayor, Councillor Homer Davis; and St James Lay Magistrates Association president Claudette Bryan.

Visionaires Apostolic was started in 2008 by Bishop Robert Coates and his wife Andrene out of their own home, but eventually acquired the property where the church now stands in Mt Salem.

"Ten years ago this church started on the veranda of our home. We should never despise small beginnings, because it is not about where you are coming from, but where you are going," said Pastor Andrene Coates. "We are happy people in the Lord, and the mission of this church is that we will continue to be witnesses for Him in the world."

Guest preacher Bishop Dolbert Clarke, of the Grand Cayman-based All Nations United Pentecostal Church, congratulated Visionaires Apostolic on its dedication.

"What you've seen here is just the beginning of a vision," said Clarke. "If you think you've seen the best that God has given to Montego Bay, the best is yet to come."
