Student stabbed in the head

Assistant Superintendent of Police Dahlia Garrick is imploring persons to find amicable means of resolving their issues.

This comes after a student of The Queen's School was stabbed in the head at the Half-Way Tree Transport Centre on Tuesday.

Garrick told The WEEKEND STAR that "Conflict resolution is a serious issue and it does not only affect children".

She admitted that many persons, including students, usually turn to aggression to resolve their conflicts.

FIND ALTERNATIVES

"Oftentimes it is played out where persons use aggression to settle conflict instead of resolving it amicably, whether through mediation or getting a third party involved," she said.

She implores persons to find alternatives to resolve their problems.

"There are a lot of options available through churches, schools, or the police," she said.

The student is said to be in serious condition.
