Plans are reportedly being made for entertainer David Brooks, popularly known as Mavado, to return to the island to be questioned by the police.

Superintendent Glenford Miller, head of the St Andrew North police, told THE WEEKEND STAR yesterday that investigators are in discussions with Mavado's lawyers.

"They are in contact with him, trying to make some arrangements for him to return to the island, so we can speak with him," Miller said.

"There is no date set as yet that we could say that he would be back," he added.

Ongoing investigation

The police on Tuesday called for Mavado to report to the Constant Spring police by midday on Wednesday. According to the police, they believe Mavado can assist them with an ongoing investigation. However, they did not say what the investigation is about.

Last Saturday, Mavado and his motor vehicle were allegedly shot at while in Cassava Piece, St Andrew.

However, it is unclear when the entertainer left the island.

On Tuesday, Mavado's son and four other men were taken into police custody following a flare-up in Cassava Piece.

"Our investigations continue in the Cassava Piece area amid the flare-up and the criminal activities, and that is the reason why they are here because we believe they can assist us with the investigation," Miller said.

A curfew that has been imposed on Cassava Piece is scheduled to end tomorrow evening.
