Seven hurt in three vehicle collision

Seven persons were rushed to the hospital in an early morning, three vehicle collision close to the Commissioner's Office along Old Hope Road.

According to Sergeant Hemele Robinson, who is attached to the Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Division, first responders at the scene told him that a Toyota Probox and a Chevrolet Colorado were travelling in the same direction going towards the Commissioner's Office, when a Fuso truck, which was travelling in the opposite direction, collided with both cars.

Firefighters had to cut the driver out of the pickup truck.

The police stated that passengers from the Probox and occupants of the other vehicles were taken to the hospital, some said to be in serious condition.

There was traffic pile-up along the route, however police personnel were out directing traffic as they removed the damaged vehicles.
