No closer leads in Jasmine Deen disappearance

While family and friends are still on edge, clinging to hope that one day they might be reunited with their relative, 22-year old Jasmine Deen, there is still no solid lead as to whether this might happen anytime soon.

Jasmine, a visually impaired student of The University of the West Indies, Mona, has been missing since Thursday, February 27. On March 18, the police announced that persons of interest had been identified in the case.

In April, Assistant Commissioner of Police Fitz Bailey informed THE STAR that investigations were still ongoing and that persons of interest were still in custody.

Not satisfied

However, Lloyd Deen, Jasmine's father, told THE STAR on Monday that he was not satisfied with the information he has been receiving from the police about her disappearance as he feels like it is not enough.

When THE WEEKEND STAR contacted Senior Superintendent of Police Stepahnie Lindsay yesterday she said that there has been no further lead into Jasmine's disappearance.

"We are still actively pursuing the investigation, still conducting searches in trying to find her. We know that the two persons that were charged in relation to properties belonging to her that were found in their possession were placed before the court and are remanded in custody," Lindsay said. "However, that was just for the possession of her property, but in terms of finding her, there are no breakthroughs, no closer leads. Investigations are being conducted just the same. We are still hopeful that we will find her alive, and we are not giving up the search for her."
