Are you the one for Fred? - After 26 years without a partner, lonely man seeks Mrs Right
Fred* had his first girlfriend when he was 15, and the relationship lasted for five years. However, when he relocated from his community of his youth, located on the outskirts of Kingston, it was the beginning of the end for the relationship.
In those days, Fred said that there were no cellular phones. With a communication barrier, their budding relationship suffered the inevitability of death.
That was the mid-1990s, and since then Fred, now 46, has not had a serious relationship in two-and-a-half decades.
"I have talked to a lot of ladies but none of them serious," said the God-fearing man who considers himself to be handsome and loving.
Now lonely, and wanting to share his life with that special woman, Fred has placed an ad in this newspaper, seeking to find Mrs Right. She must be between 35 and 49 years old.
"I don't know why, but now I want a serious relationship. I want somebody who will love me like how my mama used to love my papa, and show me that she cares about me," said Fred, who works as a janitor at a supermarket in Kingston.
He told THE STAR that he has realised that the older he gets, the harder it has become for him to find that kind of love. He said that the response to his ad has been modest, and that the women who have reached out appear to be scammers.
"The first lady that call me about the ad, she never wah get to know me. All she wanted was for me to buy her a phone. She all tell me how her phone mash up and me would have to buy a phone fi she talk to me," Fred said.
Still Fred refuses to give up on love. He is not a virgin, but said it has been a while since he has had sex, and that he is in no rush to get between the sheets. He said that he is keeping himself pure for his future wife who he hopes will be a beautiful, dark-skinned, curvaceous woman who is hard-working and loves God.
