December 15, 2023

Waterhouse footballer Kerona Davis was today fined $70,000 or 30 days imprisonment for abstracting light when she appeared before the St Catherine  Parish Court.

Davis was one of two persons who was arrested, charged and now fined. Her co-accused, Alycia Fowles was fined $150,000 or six months imprisonment.

Davis was also originally fined $150,000, but begged for leniency as she has a three-month-old child. She benefited from the intervention of arresting officer Constable Paul Banbury.

The policeman told the court that the accused indeed is a young mother who has shown remorse for her actions.

Both were held during an operation in Spanish Town, where their premises was found illegally connected to the Jamaica  Public Service lines.

The maximum fine for extracting electricity is $1,000,000 or 12 months imprisonment.
