Man accused of raping mentally ill woman remanded

A St Catherine labourer who was arrested and charged regarding the rape of a mentally ill woman was further remanded when he appeared before the parish court on Wednesday. 

Allegations are that in October and November, the unnamed man allegedly attacked and raped the mental disorder female on several occasions. 

A report was made to the police and an investigation launched in the incident. The 32-year-old was subsequently arrested.

He was charged with rape and having sexual intercourse with a mentally disordered person following a question and answer session.
