Schoolboy jailed for stolen Clarks

A 16-year-old schoolboy and two men are before the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court facing accusations that they broke into a house and stole several items, including cell phones and a pair of Clarks shoes.

The schoolboy, whose identity cannot be shared as he is a minor, is charged along with Michael Richards and Javon Wright with housebreaking and larceny, and malicious destruction of property. It is alleged that on December 12, about 2:15 p.m., the three accused entered the complainant's home on Marl Road. The accused allegedly stole a suite of clothes, two cell phones, a pair of Clarks, three televisions, a laptop and $20,000 cash. The total value of the stolen items was not shared in court on Wednesday.

Prosecutors contend that security footage was obtained by the investigator, which shows the accused leaving the complainant's home. The men were apprehended and when the minor was cautioned, he allegedly said, "Come mek me show yuh weh the things dem deh."

Presiding Judge Carlo Mason made a fingerprint order for Richards and Wright and remanded all three accused in custody until January 8, 2024. It is anticipated that a bail application will be heard at that time.
