Almost 3000 pounds of Ganja seized in St Thomas

Ganja, reported to have a street value of about $12.2 million, was seized during an operation by the Narcotics Division along the Ken Jones highway in St Thomas on Wednesday. 

It is reported that about 11:00 a.m., a team of officers conducted an operation at a premises off the mentioned roadway, which led to the discovery of vegetable matter resembling Ganja.

Further investigations revealed the matter was indeed the illicit drug, and weight in at a whopping 1220kgs or 2689.64 pounds. 

Subsequently, five persons who were present at the premises were arrested and taken into custody in connection with the seizure. Their names have been withheld pending further investigations.

The police have now launched a manhunt for a sixth person who was at the premises and managed to elude the police.
