Aircraft crashes off coast of small island

 A small airplane crashed off the coast of Bequia, a small island in the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, shortly after departing sometime after 12:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Initial reports indicate that five people were on board were travelling from the northern Grenadines island, when the aircraft plunged into the sea.

Videos circulated on social media showed an object plunging into the sea and someone shouting, “… the plane crashed! call the coast Guard”.

A national security source told the Caribbean News Agency (CANA) that the relevant agencies have been informed and a rescue plan has activated.
