Women seen in viral video beating 14-y-o charged
The police have confirmed that the women who were seen in a now viral video beating a teenage girl in Clarendon, have all been charged.
A 17-year-old male has also been arrested and charged in the matter.
Charged with unlawful wounding and assault occasioning actual bodily harm are:
- 52-year-old Pauline Hughes of Woodside district,
- 36-year-old Shayanne Williams of Havannah district, and
- 22-year-old Amanda Anderson, also of Havannah district, all in the parish.
In additional to the teenage male, three young women, aged 15, 16, and 17, have also been charged in the matter as co-accused.
According to the May Pen police, about 2:00 p.m. on December 30, 2023, a 14-year-old female was along Holland Street in Denbigh, when she was ambushed and beaten mercilessly by the group.
He was rendered unconscious. She was rushed to the hospital, where she was admitted in serious condition.
Following an investigation, the six females were taken into custody on Tuesday, January 2, while the lone male was arrested a day later.
The adult parties are slated to answer the charges in the May Pen Parish Court on Thursday, January 11.
