14-y-o accused of attempted rape

The St James police have arrested and charged a young boy after he allegedly attempted to rape a woman and inflicted several knife wounds to her body when she attempted to resist. 

The boy, who is 14-years-old, has been charged with Attempted Rape, Burglary and Wounding with Intent.

It is reported that about 11:40 p.m. on Tuesday, the boy gained entry into the victim’s home along Crawford Street in Mount Salem, where he attempted to rape her.

A struggle ensued and he used a knife to inflict several stab wounds to her upper body and head. At some point during the struggle she made an alarm, and the boy ran from the home.

On Wednesday, a citizen arrested the boy and escorted him to the police station. He was charged on Thursday after a question-and-answer session.

His court date is being finalised
