77-y-o dies in house fire

A 77-year-old caretaker from Braco district in Duncans, Trelawny died as a result of injuries he sustained in a fire at his home on Wednesday, the police confirmed. 

He has been identified as Vincent Hayden.

According to the Rio Bueno Police, residents saw smoke coming from the three-bedroom dwelling structure and summoned the police sometime after 7:00 p.m.

On arrival of the lawmen, the charred remains of Hayden were found amongst the rubble.

The scene was processed and the remains removed to the morgue pending post-mortem.

Investigations are ongoing.
