Cubans found trespassing at Excellence Oyster Bay to be deported
The ten Cuban Nationals who were found trespassing on the Excellence Oyster Bay hotel in Montego Bay, St James, were ordered to be deported when they appeared in court today.
Philbert Smith from Passport Immigration and Customs Agency told the Court that the Minister of National Security has signed a Deportation Order for the Cubans.
As such, the charges of illegal entry into Jamaica were withdrawn by the prosecution.
The Cubans were found on the hotel property on January 4 after the boat in which they were travelling, destined for Florida, was wrecked forcing them to land in Coopers Pen in Trelawny.
They were removed to be housed at a Government Facility to await deportation
