Police seize firearm in Golden Heights, two arrested

A 19-year-old woman was among two persons arrested in Golden Heights, Kingston 14 after cops on patrol in the area seized an illegal firearm on Wednesday. 

According to the Denham Town police, lawmen were on patrol in the area about 8:45 p.m. when the female suspect was seen making a hand gesture to her accomplice. 

Upon seeing the police, the second suspect, a male, made an attempt to flee the scene.

He was also observed removing an object from his waistband and throwing it under a motor car that was parked in the vicinity. The object was retrieved and found to be a nine milli-metre pistol with a magazine affixed containing two rounds.

Both persons were arrested; however, their identities are being withheld pending further investigations.
