Seven charged for beating 14-y-o granted bail

The three adults and four minors who were arrested and charged for the brutal beating of a 14-year-old girl in Denbigh, Clarendon have all been granted bail. 

The adults were granted bail in the sum of $1.2 million each, while the minors were granted bail in the sum of $600,000.

Senior parish judge, Dahlia Findlay, also placed a gag order on the accused, instructing that the they were prohibited from discussing the matter in public.

They are also banned from using WhatsApp and all other social media platforms. 

It is reported that on December 30, 2023, the victim was along Holland Street in Denbigh, when she was ambushed and beaten mercilessly by the group of four adult females, three female minors and one male minor.

She was rushed to the hospital, where she was admitted in serious condition.

Following an investigation, six females were taken into custody on Tuesday, January 2, while the lone male was arrested a day later.

The adults have been identified as:

  • 52-year-old Pauline Hugh-Smith
  • 36-year-old Fayann Millwood, and 
  • 22-year-old Amanda Anderson

The identities of the minors are being withheld, but they are aged  15, 16, and 17.

They are all to return to court on March 26.
