St Catherine residents die two weeks after house fire, police probe launched

Detectives attached to the St Catherine North Police Division have launched an investigation into a house fire in St Catherine which claimed the lives of two residents.

The deceased have been identified as 59-year-old Devon Bryan, and 48-year-old Fiona Esson, both of McVickers Lane in Spanish Town, St Catherine.

It is reported that about 4:00 a.m. on December 24, 2023, the two were at home when fire was seen raging from their dwelling. The fire Brigade was summoned and put out the blaze.

The two were rescued from a burnt section of building and rushed to the Spanish Town Hospital where they were admitted.

They died approximately two weeks later, on January 8, 2024, as a result of the severe injuries they received.
