Car Boss charged for murder committed in Gregory Park

Detectives from the Portmore Criminal Investigations Branch have apprehended and charged 20-year-old Miguel Tracy, alias 'Car Boss,' for the murder of 50-year-old Dina Griffiths, which occurred along Long Lane, Gregory Park, St Catherine, nearly a year ago.

Tracy faces additional charges of conspiracy to commit murder, possession of a prohibited weapon, and unauthorised possession of ammunition.

The incident took place on February 3, 2023. The police allege that Tracy and another assailant attacked and shot Griffiths around 9 a.m. as she sat at her gate. The injured woman was taken to the Spanish Town Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

Some time before the incident, a shop belonging to the woman, who was a well-known party worker for the ruling Jamaica Labour Party, was gutted by fire.
