A Corporate Area man will spend several more weeks in custody before he knows his fate, as he is to be sentenced for assaulting another man over a missing firearm.

Oshane Smith pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm and assault at common law in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court late last week. Prosecutors contend that Smith visited the complainant's home where an argument developed over a firearm that was placed at the home for safekeeping. The complainant could not account for the firearm and Smith started to assault him all over his body.

Smith was made the subject of a fingerprint order and was remanded in custody until March 7, when he is to be sentenced.
