Over 10 pounds of cocaine sized at NMIA

The police's Narcotics Division have launched an investigation into the seizure of over 10 pounds of cocaine at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston. 

It is reported that on Wednesday, January 17 about 5:00 p.m., a woman checked in to board a flight destined for London, England. 

During the security checkpoint, the cocaine was discovered concealed in milk packages in her suitcase. Checks made by the police revealed over 10.5 pounds and had an estimated street value of USD 144,000.00

The woman was subsequently arrested and placed on reasonable suspicion for breaches of the dangerous drugs act.

However, her identity is being withheld pending further investigations.
