Detectives assigned to the St James Criminal Investigations Branch have laid multiple charges, including murder, against a man in relation to two separate fatal shootings last October and December.

Nigel Bailey, 47, otherwise called 'Bad Ras', of Bickersteth, has also been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and using a firearm to commit a felony. Bailey is being charged in relation to the October 24 murder of Owen Morris, 41-year-old chef of Tank Road, Cambridge, and is also implicated in the December 10 death of 42-year-old Kemar Henry, otherwise called 'Brukky' and 'Diamonds', of Bickersteth.

In the first instance, police reported that about 12:30 p.m., Morris was standing at a business establishment in his community when a white Toyota Fielder motor vehicle approached. Bailey and another man, armed with guns, alighted and opened gunfire at Morris, hitting him all over his body. The men escaped in the waiting motor car and Morris was assisted to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

In the other incident, according to police reports, about 5:20 p.m. Henry was among a group of people when they were approached by men travelling in a Toyota Axio motor car. Bailey and his accomplices exited the vehicle and opened gunfire hitting Henry in the head. The police were alerted, and on their arrival, Henry was transported to hospital, where death was confirmed.

Bailey was apprehended by the police during an operation in Kingston on January 4, and subsequently charged. His court dates are being arranged
