Guard charged with attempted murder

January 24, 2024

Prosecutors are awaiting a report from the police's Communication Forensic and Cybercrime Division to assist in their case against a security guard, who is before the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court for attempted murder.

Samora Johnson is accused of conspiracy to commit murder. It is alleged that Johnson met the complainant in April 2021 and indicated that he wanted an intimate relationship. Johnson started to give the complainant money and sometime thereafter, began demanding sex from her. Up to March 2022, Johnson continued to give the complainant money, but as she continued denying his advances, Johnson allegedly told his co-worker of his intention to kill the complainant. During a sting operation along Washington Boulevard, Johnson was arrested and a knife found in his waistband. He was subsequently arrested and charged.

The matter, when mentioned before Senior Parish Judge Lori-Anne Cole-Montaque on Tuesday, was adjourned until May 30, to facilitate file completion and the attendance of Johnson's lawyer.
