78-y-o dies in St Elizabeth fire

Leroy Hamilton, a 78-year-old resident of Huntley Castle in St Elizabeth, died as a result of injuries he sustained in a fire at his home on Thursday.

The New Market police say about 2:20 a.m., residents saw smoke coming from the dwelling and alerted the police and fire department.

On their arrival, cooling down operations were conducted and Hamilton's charred remains were found among the debris.

The scene was processed and the remains were removed to the morgue pending post-mortem.
