One week after the distressing incident in which St Thomas resident Wayne Walker found himself cowering in fear as a gun, held by Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) councillor caretaker Dean Jones was aimed at him, the two men have now reached a resolution.

Walker told THE STAR yesterday that Jones has agreed to pay his medical bills.

"Him come check me yesterday [Sunday] and he apologised, him say him sorry fi what take place. We take a picture together and nothing nuh wrong, I just want it all to done," Walker related to THE STAR.

Jones was last Thursday nominated as the JLP's candidate for the Trinityville Division in the February 26 local government elections. He will face off against the People's National Party's Kimberly Thompson in a seat that has been held by the JLP since 2003.

Attempts to contact Jones' lawyer, Alexander Shaw, to discuss the settlement proved futile up to press time yesterday.

On February 5, Walker, a farmer and sound system operator, was seen in an armature video footage dressed in a red shirt involved in a tussle with Jones before he was tacked to the ground by another man, wearing a green shirt. Walker was kicked repeatedly as he lay helpless on the ground by two men -- Jones not included - the video of the incident shows.

Walker yesterday said he wants to have the matter behind him quickly. He told the news team that he is still feeling pain in his stomach, abdomen and chest, and his since undergone ultrasounds and X-ray examinations to determine the extent of his injuries sustained during the melee.

"Me a wait pon the doctor report and him promised to pay the medical bills, we come to an agreement about it already." said Walker.
