Police constable killed in car accident

There has been a reduction in motorcyle fatal accidents.

Andre Douglas, a police constable based at the Cedar Valley Police Station in St Thomas, was killed in a vehicular accident along Weymouth Drive in St Andrew on Wednesday.

It is reported that about 3:00 p.m., Douglas was driving a motorcycle along the roadway towards Washington Boulevard in St Andrew.

Upon reaching the stoplight he was reportedly hit by a Toyota Hiace van which reportedly ran the red light.

He was injured and assisted to the Kingston Public Hospital where he succumbed to injuries received.

The Duhaney Park police are conducting an investigation in the matter.
